Digital Inclusion
In many ways, the modern education system has not significantly changed in the last 50 years. There remains an expectation for higher education students to:
- read copious amounts of extremely dense material
- extract pertinent information from this reading
- attend lectures and be able to maintain focus for long periods of time
- create effective notes in classes by simply listening to their lecturers
- plan and execute long-form writing that fulfils complex marking criteria

Fortunately, a wider range of assistive technologies is available to help address these challenges and more! Our Assistive Technology (AT) trainers are fully versed in the software and hardware recommended through the Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA).
Training sessions can last one or two hours, depending on each student’s preference and will always prioritise covering functionality and associated strategies that students can immediately benefit from.

We have experience working with higher education students of all ages and abilities. We understand that university students already have many demands on their time, and the last thing they need is another person adding to their learning burden!
Our trainers aim to help each student leave each session feeling more confident and empowered to implement the technology in their daily lives, without making these tools seem daunting or overwhelming. We strive to make training sessions accessible, enjoyable and informative, while being mindful not to overwhelm learners with information.
